Delaware Club of America
Dedicated to the preservation and
restoration of this endangered breed
WELCOME

We are glad you have stopped by to visit our page. The Delaware Club of America was founded in 2008 due to the
response to the status of the Delaware breed on the ALBC's Critical List.

It's important to us to preserve this breed and bring it out of the endangered list. We must also work to setting
breed shows and grow interest into why it is important to save it. With you help and support, we can do just that.

Feel free to browse our site and check back for updates, news and events as we grow.

WHY JOIN?

It's important in this day to conserve and protect the resources that we have. The Delaware chickens are no exception. If we do not do something
about the decline in them, they may soon be extinct. Those who own these birds know how gentle, calm and the great  disposition they have. Only
having been around since the 1940's, the breed is still new and faces this dilemma.

Now with your help and support, we can change this around. Through this Club, we will be able to provide a new chance for this bird and help to
maintain a healthy atmosphere for fanciers, breeders and owners alike.

UPDATES

March 3, 2009- Spring is almost upon us, and chick season is in full production this year. We have had many inquiries about baby chicks, but no
breeders in our program. It's important for us to work together in preserving this breed and improve its status on the ALBC's list. As a special
bonus to help boost this program, we are offering a special price for
Certified Breeder membership at $30. We need more people to come together
and participate both as Club Certified Breeders and as members.

January 3, 2009- Delaware Club of America is running its new membership campaign for 2009. We have had a lot of hits on the site, but
membership is still low. We are encouraging everyone to sign up and help support their state. We are also looking to make some changes this
year with a monthly newsletter for members, more breeders to come along and an overall support for this breed across the nation. Please contact
us if you are interested in helping out. The more people we have actually join us, the more we can do.

January 2, 2009- We are seeking a group that is looking to help define the Delaware Breed and head a special committee for breeders. Contact us
if you are interested in learning more about joining this group.

May 5, 2008- Delaware Club of America is proud to sponsor Fancy Fowl magazine! We are currently working with the USA division and members
can look forward to receiving information on how to subscribe included with their membership packets.  We are also in discussion with Champion
Group International on their part in becoming a sponsor to our club. Thank you to these new contacts and we look forward towards their support!

June 10, 2008- We are honored to announce the promotion of two new State Directors! Anthea Thacker is representing Oklahoma and Anthony
Dean is now representing Alabama. If you live on one of these states, be sure to drop them a line. We still need many more people to assist us so
don't join us today.
